Do not compare pool fencing quotes by the bottom line alone. If those are missing, the cheap quote is not really priced.
Tick the items that are stated in writing. If you cannot tick most of them, ask for the quote to be rewritten before paying a deposit.
A good quote reads like a small construction document, not a text message. It should tell you exactly what is being installed, where it goes, what gets removed, what is excluded, and what happens if the pool safety inspector asks for a change. For a frameless glass job in Sanctuary Cove that means lineal metres, 12 mm toughened glass, 316 stainless spigots, gate width, hinge model, latch height, core-drilled or base-plated fixings, disposal of the old barrier, sealant around drilled paving, site clean and inspection coordination. The most common variation is removal. Pulling out an old aluminium fence might be $25 to $45 per metre, but removing cracked masonry, rusted steel posts or heavily concreted spigots can take longer. The second is paving and substrate repair. Core drilling into stable concrete is predictable. Drilling through loose coping, hollow tiles or moving pavers is not. The third is climbable-zone remediation. A quote may include the fence but exclude moving pump equipment, trimming vegetation, changing a garden bed height or replacing a climbable boundary section. The fourth is inspection failure work. If the contractor says "certificate by others", ask who pays if the gate fails because the supplied latch is wrong.

If the quote includes inspection, ask whether the inspector is independent and whether the certificate fee is included. A contractor can coordinate the inspection, but the inspection role itself is regulated.
